Carolina Beach, also known as Pleasure Island, is the southernmost part of New Hanover County, separated from Wilmington by the Snow's Cut Bridge.  Carolina Beach maintains a 1950's charm with a tight knit community feel and is home of one of the last remaining boardwalks on the east coast.  The boardwalk features a Ferris wheel with amazing beach views, mini golf, and many other family friendly rides and attractions. Every Thursday evening in the summer season, there is a crowd drawing display of fireworks and live music.  Carolina Beach has over 6,000 full time residents and is filled with quaint shops and restaurants.

Carolina Beach's North End, named Freeman Park, is undeveloped and allows 4 wheel drive vehicles to drive out onto the long strip of sand.  Camping is permitted and fired are allowed year round in approved fire pits, making this a popular destination for beach lovers and campers year round.
