Sunset at the end of summer. This is just one example of why Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach, NC is such a wonderful place to live. Whether you live on the beach or have to drive a couple of minutes to get there, this view is worth it. The gorgeous sunset is an every day reminder of how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful place.
This was the White Lake International Distance Triathlon held September 7, 2013 put on by Set Up Events. In May there is a half ironman on Saturday and a sprint on Sunday. Me an bunch of other guys for years have gone up and stayed in one of the cabins and do the half on Saturday, cookout that evening then do the sprint on Sunday. One year we had planned to ride back to Wilmington after the sprint on Sunday (about a 80 mile ride). Thank God it started raining and rained us out.
The Wrightsville Beach Foundation host it's 1st annual Pier2Pier2Pier Run & Kid's Crab Crawl at low tide on May 4th, 2013. Everyone had a great time. Race director Bobby Brandon was there with video camera in hand to document just another wonderful family event at Wrightsville Beach.
Bobby Brandon gets a pie in the face as joke . He had made a bet that when he listed 20 Palmetto if it was not under contract before April 30th Rainey could throw a pie in his face. He had the house under contract by April 30th but Rainey he decided he needed the pie in the face anyway...just for the hell of it.
